5th Birthday Matchplay FAQ’s
What is Match play?
Match play is a scoring system in which a player earns a point for each hole in which they have bested their opponent. The winner is the player with the most points at the end of the 18-hole round.
We will be running a handicapped match play tournament, based on your FOREplay Golf Handicap.
Who is the tournament open to?
Everyone!
Is it handicapped?
Yes. For those without a FOREplay Golf Social Handicap, you will need to complete a minimum of five (5) 9-hole rounds prior to your first march.
Dates
The tournament will run for 10 weeks, starting Monday 1st September 2025. The Final will be held on Sunday, 9th November 2025, coinciding with FOREplay Golf’s 5th Birthday.
Format
All rounds will be played at FOREplay Golf.
In weeks 1 to 8 participants will complete their qualifying matches. Week 9 will be semi-finals, with the Final being Sunday, 9th November.
Participation numbers will determine the exact number of rounds played across the 8-week qualifying rounds.
Matches will be randomised, and the players will be responsible for finding a mutually agreed time to play their match in the allocated week.
Fees
There is a one-off $50 entry fee for the Members Matchplay Tournament.
Players are to book their match time and share the fees. Members can use their member hours if they choose to.
